Just got off the phone from a VERY frustrating call to HTC UK. Guy I spoke to, to be honest, was a prick. Didn't want to hear my problem, just wanted to tell me to reset my phone oh blame 3rd party no I won't pass you to my supervisor. Ok, I say I JUST got off the phone, what I mean is I just finished writing a complaint.

ANYWAY, here's my problem - maybe somone can help. I'll keep it simple:

I can't select 3rd party text entry types.

Go into Language & Keyboard - I see Big Buttons Keyboard, Swiftkey Beta and HTC_IME mod listed, all 3rd party keyboards I have installed.

I select one of them. It gives me a warning, I say OK, box is ticked. This keyboard is now selected.

I go to create a new SMS or enter something into the browser.

Stock HTC Keyboard.

I try again. Choose a different 3rd party keyboard. Stock HTC Keyboard.

Am I Just missing some essential stage in the process here, or is something messed up?

Yeah mate, what you want to do is hard press on the text entry area, after a few seconds it will give you a selection menu. From there you select input method and then change the keyboard form there.

What you did before was switch the keyboard on, so IF the keyboard you want is NOT listed on the input selection menu you need to go back into keyboards and tick it!

Hope this makes sense :D

I've had a similar experience when ringing, no real knowledge to speak of just scripted responses.

Email support is better but obviously slower.

glad you got sorted.
