can't choose a widget for lock screen?

[james_uk]

Hi, I have had my s4 a day now, I was trying to add widgets to my lock screen but the option is greyed out on my phone, does anyone know how to make the option useable?
Thanks

James

I have a similar situation. Also performed factory reset but still the same issue.
Please help.

It depends which screen lock you have chosen. If you use the pattern or pin lock etc then the widget options are greyed out. If you choose the swipe option which has no security then the options to add widgets to your lock screen should not be greyed out.

Hope that helps,

Jon

Thank you Jon, that sorted it.

Check the play store for widget locker. It will let you add widgets and still keep your pattern/pin code security.
