Help cant connect to internet

hey guys, just got my captivate today, i love it so far, but havent really had much chance to play with it...i cant connect over the network though, only through wifi...it doesnt show that i have 3g or egde, just the signal bars. i have removed the battery and sim card, what should i do?

do you have a data package?

If so and you just go it today then call your provider to make sure it was activated properly.

i do have data, i thought u had to get it. i guess i will have to call att tomorrow...
