can't connect to pc?

Hi all, not a big poster but in need of some help..

I've had no really problem and i had the phone since it was brought out..on TMobile in the uk.

A couple of months a go i connected the phone to my pc to up load some pics and the windows message came up saying

"USB Device Not Recognized"

I couldn't get it to connect for weeks, then out of the blue it did...

A week ago i got an system update (2.1, if not how do i do this??)
through the phone and not it won't connect again???

What worked for me was, go to settings/ connect to a pc/untick 'ask me' box and set disk drive as default.

As I say, worked for me.

Got the same problem after 2.1 update. A reboot fixed it in my case.

Thanks for the replies, in settings on my phone there is no connect to a pc?
or am i being stupid??
