Can't connect to PC

I can't connect my desire HD to PC, i have only had the phone about 5 days and want to get some music on it. i have downloaded HTC Sync but it just says NO Device Connecteting i have changed to set on the phone to HTC sync but still no luck.

Any help would be great, Thanks in advance

Just drag & drop music straight to the SD card (mount as Disk drive) rather than selecting HTC Sync, that's just for backup purposes as far as I'm aware (could be very wrong there lol)

Htc sync is useless, just makes an easy process more complicated.
