Help Can't connect to pc

Ichiboz

Newbie
Just got my phone today and whenever I try to connect to the pc (through usb) it fails to obtain the android mtp driver. This means I can't connect to Keis but more importantly can't put any music or vids on it.

Any advice?

Yeah mate. Tried uninstalling and downloading it again. Still get the driver error.

The thing is, even without Kies installed I should still be able to use it as mass storage. However, whenever I plug in the phone I get the error. The phone is on the MTP Application page. It says "Connected Press the home key to quit Samsung Kies". This is on the phone even if Kies is not installed. Also the phone does not appear as a mass storage either here or when I press home.

I'm getting the same problem on both my laptops. One is running Windows 7 64 bit and the other is running Vista 32.

I'm baffled and google isn't helping.

You sir, are a genius!

It seems to have worked. I can now see the phone as a mass storage device.

When running Kies I get an error message saying Reconnect the device in Samsung Kies (PC Studio mode). Current connection mode not supported by Kies.

I'll have rummage around and see what I can do about that one.

Thanks again.

Turned USB Debugging back off and that's let me into Kies. Thanks again. Now I can get on with exploring my new phone!
