hello everyone need some help please my pc is not recognising my phone .yet testerday it was fine please help .cheers

Give this a try. Technically this is supposed to force your PC to see a new device and attempt to install new drivers for it.

  1. Reboot your PC
  2. On your phone go into the settings and make sure Android Debugging is enabled
  3. Turn the phone completely off
  4. Plug the USB cable into the computer
  5. Plug the other end into the phone
  6. Turn the phone on

Technically this is supposed to force your PC to see a new device and attempt to install new device drivers for it. If this fails, peruse the All Things Root stickies for a link that offers a download for the Samsung drivers you need.

Just as a note in case you did not know; any time you remove your phone from being plugged in to your computer, always remember to right click on the little icon next to your computers system clock and choose to safely eject the hardware.

I had luck with windows xp by connecting the phone and launching windows update... then MS saw I needed drivers.

The best solution imo is:
(1) create a widgetsoid widget on your homescreen with wifi hotspot and data toggles
(2) download Samba Filesharing
(3) toggle data off (if you dont have a tethering subscription),
(4) toggle hotspot on *using widgetsoid widget*
(5) turn on samba filesharing

Then you access the phone like a network drive: open explorer and type \\PhoneName -- whatever you set "PhoneName" to be...

blazes way fast compared to MTP via usb... may seem overly complicated, but is especially great if you normally tether quite often...
