Root Can't connect via USB, so is there an alternative way to root???

Ok, like other transform users i cant connect my phone to my computer via usb even tho Ive installed samsungs drives so idk whats going on.

So i was wondering if there's another way to root with out having to connect to my computer and if so has anyone tried it and was it successful?
 
I had similar problems with the Samsung Captivate. I assume all you need is to move the update.zip file to the phone. I did that using SwiFTP from the app market over my WiFi.
 
Hehe Ill be back to help you guys install the Samsung Transform drivers properly, Ill get it posted right after school for you guys. Ill be editing this post FYI.

From school works too. Alright what you want to do it go into the 'control panel' and go to 'add hardware' or 'Add Drivers' I can't tell which because these options in the computers are disabled at my school. Anyway, your phone needs to be plugged into your computer and make sure your phone is in 'debug mode' going from 'Settings' going to 'Applications' then 'Development' and making sure debug mode is checked. Now in the add hardware or drivers, you going to 'Search for new hardware' something to that extent, and say that the device is plugged into the computer. Now look for your phone and click on it, it should be malfunctioning and needs the correct drivers installed. Go to start>control panel and click systems. Go to the hardware tab and click device manager. Look for the device you want to update the driver for and double click it. Go to the driver tab and click on update driver. Now when you search for drivers, don't do it manually, let Windows search for it and it should install correctly, and tada, your phone should be connected to your computer. Best of Luck, Ill probably edit this later to make sure it makes sense haha
 
Ok so ZDroid1, i shouldve mentioned this in my 1st post but this is my first time rooting and fr wat ive read dont u have to be connected to the computer and than press certain buttons on the phone sometime during the process.or is that just for the one method ive seen?

TheAndroid, Ive tried that but when it searches its unable to find anything.
My computer isnt even able to see what device it is, it say "unsupported" or "unrecognized" or something like that. I even tried manually selecting the driver but no luck.
