Help Can't copy files using Android File Transfer for Mac

Every time I try to copy a file using Android File Transfer, it sticks around 16kb, then says it can't copy the file. Then it give the 'Can't access device storage' message and Android File Transfer automatically closes.

I used to copy files all the time this way. I've reset my computer and the phone. I tried a different cable. I deleted some files from the phone. Any idea what the problem is?

i know you said you deleted some files on your phone but do you have enough space for whatever you're trying to copy over?

In addition to what Trophy asked, does your phone charge ok? Or do you have to move the cable around a little bit. It could be a USB port problem if the computer cannot see it trying both USB cables.

Yeah, I have plenty of space on the phone (I was able to delete a few gigs worth of videos).

The phone stays connected just fine until I try to copy a file. It consistently disconnects right after it tries, unsuccessfully, to copy the file.
