Root cant decide on a rom, help?

Just bought this phone, had to downgrade it and root it. I'm running l awe ROM but is 4.4.4 better and if so what one is most stable?
Kk is better there is also lollipop ROMs as well I would say nameless ROM KitKat is most stable in my eyes very smooth that's just an opinion

I prefer the KK ROMs for the most part. On my experience, what you do with the phone has a lot to do with stability. A small example would be using something such as Gravity Box to get that particular tweak or setting you desire on a ROM that is already modified with similar offerings. For me, that came into play when I wanted my menu button (long press) to switch to the last app. I used Gravity Box to accomplish that on ROMs without that choice. Problems arise when your ROM and GBox are offering similar options. Basically, I have found that the more vanilla a ROM is, the more Gravity Box will help and work well. The more flavored a ROM is, the more likely you'll have stability sort of issues when using other options to get that particular thing you want. If you don't bother with things like GBox, it can't affect stability but that's personal preference.

Kernals can also cause stability issues (I believe) but we don't have to worry about that with the awesome guys here. Clock speeds would probably be a more relevant topic that can influence stability with the Awe. Awes are made of varying quality as silly as that sounds so for example, I may only be able to run at 1.8ghz while you may be able to run over 2ghz. Also, the ventilation can cause issues. I'd recommend removing the couple tabs on the inside. A thread exists in this forum somewhere that goes into more detail with clarity.

As for individual ROMs stability out of the gate, I typically don't notice a whole lot of difference ROM to ROM with KK. That I would think is a product of the greats devs around here. In my experience, stability comes down to what your doing with your Awe more so than the ROM. With that said, all the ROMs are awesome but my favorites include Spirit, Nameless, Tesla, CM11, Bliss, Slim, Gummy...heck, its hard to name favorites because I'm basically fond of them all.

No prob at all. Some others here would be able to provide more insight in regards to stability. Those are basically just my experiences. I will say though that Lawe is an incredible ROM (I would venture to say it is the most custom ROM avail) and is very stable in my experience. Id still try out some KK but your on a great, stable ROM now as well.

What you should do is go to the Awe all things root thread and read the OP of each ROM you're interested in. See what features appeal to you, what may be broken and generally what ROM will suit your needs. Asking someone to tell you the best ROM is completely subjective, like asking someone the best shoes for running a marathon.

Everyone has their own taste, everyone has features they can or can't live without. In short do some reading and spend some time researching the threads and do some flashing. Otherwise it's a completely opinion based answer your going to find here for your question...

So don't you you think its better to do some leg work, research and form your own opinion? Happy flashing, let us know what ROM you like best. [emoji106]

When I do use the awe, which is sparingly. I have turned it in to a slimmed down mini game device for a nephew...spirit rom works well for that. No gapps, and some other preinstalled stuff removed also. When I used it for calls, etc I preferred spirit and my own modified stock rom. It is all subjective and per user needs as Stark pointed out. Really depends on what suits you. Try out them all..i did lol. None are sub par.

Still on a tablet as a primary?

Yeah pretty much. Not really tinkering on any particular device. Just enjoying other peoples stuff for a change.
Exactly... I've rekindled my love affair with Motorola hardware. The "Droid" series became so tiresome and Blur was hideous. Now I've got a 1stGen Moto G and 2nd Gen Moto X (Which retired my Nexus)...but since the Lenovo buy out I can already see a difference in support and in a few areas...its like I can never be happy lol.

Id like to upgrade to KK (I seemed to like PA) or even Lollipop but I use video and that seems to be borked on all builds. So Im stuck with LAwe, until that gets fixed (if ever). On another note, is there a JB kernel that works with Bluetooth? I get crashes when I use both rb3 and AWEstruck (is this one still being worked on?)

im never satisfied stark lol...ever bro
I hear you...I was so pumped Moto was designing the N6...but its a phablet and the most expensive Nexus ever made which blew me away considering how strong Moto is on price point... Anyway that's one of my Lenovo owned Moto disappointments ... I am keeping my eye on the rumors of the hardware refresh of the Nexus 5. [emoji16]
