Help Can't delete messages

Well my text messages have added up to like about 6500 the thing is that I can't delete these messages on stock app and handcent phone just freezes after a while it gives you the option to force close or wait?

Any other way to delete?

I use autodeleteSMS and it will delete individual texts that are older than however long you specify. That way the number of texts doesn't get out of hand. I don't know if it would work with that many texts tho lol
