Cant delete my messages

With my old phone i got into the habit of racking up thousands of messages before i bothered to delete them all.

I have done this on my phone and now when i go to delete the thread it crashes and eventually forces me to close! It does this every time and as a result the messages keep building up.

Any ideas?

This does seem to be quite a common problem, there have been several threads in this forum alone on the subject (I don't know if it is a Hero problem or an Android problem, but I would assume the latter). I don't think anyone has come up with sure way of doing it yet, but if you do a quick search you should be able to find several solutions to try
