Help Can't delete photos from the Galley app

Folks, sorry, but I still can't delete pictures that I've taken. When I click on a picture in gallery, the only options that appear on the screen are Save and Cancel (Save actually makes the picture my smartphone desktop). There is no Delete option anywhere in sight. What am I missing. Help please!!!

OK, I just saw the posting re. downloading Quickpic and that did it. Thanks for that. But for heaven's sake, Android, why can't one delete a picture without resorting to another App?

I'm not sure why you only get those 2 options. When i open the stock gallery app and then choose an album and then a photo from that album along the top right my choices are play, share, and delete.
Or if i long press on a photo within an album my options are details, share or delete.

I was having the same issue. Was looking at the gallery through the wrong app. I was accessing the gallery by going to Menu>Wallpapers>Gallery. Only gives you the option to Save or Cancel. This is the wrong way to do it. You have to get to the Gallery through your camera. Go to Camera app>select your camera shots gallery. It should bring up all images with icons at the bottom. If you select the List icon at the bottom, it'll bring up your gallery. Select the album you want to edit, then the image. Either long press, or select the image and it'll bring up a list of stuff to do, including delete as an option. Hope this helps.

OK guys...my issue is trying to delete the pics from my gallery that I took with my phone that automatically uploaded to my tablet, because they are both registered to my Gmail...wtf...

Hello and welcome to the forums niteheat51 - thanks for joining!

I have not had that issue myself... the only pics that I get on my tablet are the ones that I take with my tablet.

Are you registered for Google+ on your phone and tablet? That is the only way that I can think of that would mean that the pictures are uploading and syncing with your A500. If you are, then you can disable to auto-upload function and you shouldn't have the pics from your phone appeaaring on your tablet!

Hi,
Re: I can, once you open a folder in the gallery tap on a pic and if you want to delete it just tap the trash can at the top right.

Right on, I couple of tries and unwanted picture file was deleted from my Asus E-Pad thanks.:)

That's cool, but I still can't delete the pics I've taken with my Inspire, previously...I would hare to have to reset to factory specs...

Does anyone else find it odd that you can't delete photos from the Gallery app?
Hi I Was having same problem, after days of research I found the answer, go o line and download picasa tools, send it to your desktop, than go I to your gallery click o the little picasa icon in the left upper Conner and upload all your pictures, once that is done , go inti picasa tools ans click on pictures you don,t want and delete and they will be deleted out of gallery. You have to be sure to upload the ones you don!t want to, very easy, took me days to find an answer that worked

All this fuss about such an easy fix... Use ES File explorer app and open thw file where then pictures are, long tap and when the window opens tap delete. You might go into settings and make sure it's not set to save your files when you turn off and on. If that box is checked, after you delete something it will reappear when you reboot.

Once Google has something in Picasa, it stays on the phone even if you have deleted it from Picasa via pc. I looked at Dashboard and there is still some stuff listed even though it is deleted. Says 4 pics in Picasa, but Picasa itself has nothing.

I tried to find those pics in ES File Explorer, they are not there. I can delete from Gallery and that's all. Since they were only resizes in Picasa to post from phone and originals are elsewhere, I can delete but would prefer to transfer. So it's Google's default Gallery. I did try QuicPic for renaming, but it had an issue. But while QP was on the phone, those pictures that were resized in Picasa did NOT show.

After reading all of these posts, and trying a few things, I realized my issue was with Google+. I just had to go to Google+ and delete the pics that I didn't want to keep on my Samsung Tablet.

Had same problem. Went into settings, applications, manage applications, gallery then clicked clear data. Granted this cleared all pics but that was what I wanted . Hope this helps.
