Help Can't Disable New E-mail LED Notification

Menu > Settings > Display > Notification Flash > Email ... unchecked. Got that (I still have a feeling someone will suggest this to me though).

Yet, with the arrival of a new email, I still get the green LED notification flash. I am using Gmail and there aren't settings for LED notifications within the Gmail app's settings.

The weird thing is that I did a factory reset last night and before that everything was fine.

hrm...since day one/release I have never been able to turn that off. Are you certain it just started doing it now?

Yeah, it only started doing that after the factory reset. I tested it out and everything. It blinked when I had the option selected and it didn't when I didn't want it to. I sent many e-mails to myself to test all the options out. Now it suddenly stops working after the reset.

I know it seems like a small issue but it's really kind of a big one for those who don't want a blinking light to drain their battery. I reserve the LED notification for missed texts/calls/voicemails only.

Also, can we be sure this is an android settings problem or could it be that Gmail's app has the default override setting and perhaps it's just hidden?

Either way, I'm surprised there isn't more complaints about this and that its gone this long without being fixed!

no no...it bugs me as well. I hate flashing lights.

I wouldn't really be concerned about an LED draining the battery though. They hardly draw any power at all.
