Help can't do screenshot?

I can't seem to be able to do a screenshot. I'm pressing the vol down button + power button but all i get is the phone options (power, silent, etc). Is there a trick I'm missing or could I have a problem unit? I'd really hate to have to swap it out just for that!

You have to hit them both at the same time and hold.

that's what I'm doing, but the phone options menu still pops up and nothing else happens.

well i think i figured it out - my volume button is non-responsive. is there a setting in ics to turn that on or off?

pretty sure there isn't, so the volume bar doesn't come up when you mess with volume up or down?

well I would call a csr and see what they have to say. If anything you will just get a replacement

I managed a screenshot: the trick is to already have the volume all the way down so there's nowhere else for it to go. The combination and timing are tricky... but yes, the Volume Down + Power will get you a screen shot

my vol button is definitely non-functional. i hate getting everything set up just the way i want it, then having to swap for a new one!

To say that 'timing' is important on this is an understatement. I've hit button combos just a few million times in my life but couldn't get this one until I focused my inner child and made sure I pressed both buttons at the exact same moment in time. I watched three videos of other people getting screen shots with no problem, cursing at them wondering how they are getting screen shots and I couldn't.

Odd I've never had a problem with this. In fact just to verify I took several screen shots this thread without missing.

And I have my volume all the way up, not down. Of course my volume buttons are extremely sensitive. I got tired of accidentally turning down the volume when I picked up the phone, so I installed a volume lock app.

I suspect the OPs phone is defective

Nope only Volume Down + Power will take a screenshot.
