Help Can't download apps

I haven't tried to dowload an app for months, and can't get it done. I did a search and figured out how clear the cache, but still no luck. I go through the motions of a new app, get up to "downloading", and that's it. I see the download icon for about 3 seconds. When I check the cache again, there are Kbs in there.
Am I missing something, or is some setting wrong, or is the phone shot?

What's the app ?
Is it a paid app you bought and downloaded ?
Did you to push the download from the web market rather than the phone market ?

Just a free app. (flashlight) it doesn't matter though. I was in town yesterday and took it to the phone store and they couldn't load anything either. I can't update any existing apps either.

2 solutions:

1-Delete your google account and create a new account (with another mail address). You will lose all the paid apps you ever bought unless you back them up.

2-If that does not work. Return the phone.
