Help Can't Edit Facebook Contacts on X2..?

The problem is that I have almost 2 thousand email addresses in my Gmail contacts. I don't want all that to show up when I include google contacts. Is there a way to not do that?

And the problem still stands. My vzw backup won't sync with facebook contacts, and those are the only ones I care about. Don't care about people I email. Is Android going to make me retype all these in?

There are Display options in Contacts.

Go to your GMail contacts account on your PC and create a group, and put the contacts you want to see in that group.

Then go to phone and use the Display feature (hit menu in Contacts) to set which Group(s) from your gmail contacts you want to display on your phone.

As for your VZW backup - are those contacts not included in your 2000 contacts on Gmail? If so, put those in the Gmail Group you want to see on your phone.

If those aren't in your Gmail contacts, export those contacts to a file on your SD card (exports to VCF format) and then import those contacts into your Gmail account, and put them in the same group. I don't know if Gmail imports VCF, but if not, I'm sure there's a way to convert from VCF to a format that Google likes, or a way to export your backed up contacts from VZW's web site to a file GMail can handle.

You should spend a few minutes reviewing the settings menus in the Contacts app - there are a lot of features/options there that could benefit you to become familiar with... :)

Good luck.

I finally found an app for the Android but it cost money though. I haven't try it out yet. Here's the link for information about this app.

Getting an invalid response from server for this app.. Also, you cannot contact the seller, as his website says "invalid credentials" when trying to view it. You only have 15 minutes to request a refund for this app, so I suggest trying to use it right away and asking for a refund if it doesn't work.

After copying all my information from Facebook to my Google contacts, I found two duplicates on my phone and it won't join together so I end up have to delete those two contact information and re-enter it on my Google Voice and than it join together on my phone.

Here's the program that sync Facebook contacts with your Google contacts. I try it out. It works but not that great. I may have to run it again but it takes forever to run so it's best to run when you go to sleep.

Make sure you read the description on this link on how to use it.

This one works!! You need chrome and yahoo mail to make it work, but it works. It won't import ALL of your contacts, but it got all but 45 of mine. I'm thinking it has more to do with how your contacts have their information permissions set or whether or not they have a phone number/email address listed versus the functionality of the app. You have to import all of your facebook contacts into yahoo mail. FYI MAKE SURE YOU ARE LOGGED INTO FACEBOOK IN CHROME. If you are not, it won't work.. ALSO, if someone else is logged into facebook in Chrome, you will download THEIR contacts, not yours.
You need to export your yahoo contacts into a CSV file (type of excel spreadsheet) and them import that CSV file into your gmail contacts. Make sure you edit your contacts in the spreadsheet before saving and importing it, as it makes it faster and easier.
Note: This will not import your contact pictures from facebook.
