Help Can't find gmail app

I can't locate my gmail app icon. There's. A widget for it, but no app icon. When I enable multi window, the app icon is in the menu, but I can't get it to any of my front pages. I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. Does anybody know what to do?

Don't drag and drop from the multi-window bar. All that will do is open the gmail app for multi-window/multi-tasking use. Drag and drop from your app drawer. That's if you're wanting the app to be a shortcut on one of your homescreens.

If you're trying to use gmail in multi-window, that's when you drag and drop. Then, you drag and drop another item that you're going to use with multi-window.

Hello and welcome, Gotigersgo. :)

In the stock app drawer (assuming you have no 3rd party launcher installed and in use), at the top, is a horizontal sliding menu with "apps" and "widgets." You may have the "widgets" section in view.. if so, just slide to the "apps" area.

Let us know if that is what you're referring to. Perhaps there's another, more serious issue. Hope not. ;) Either way, we're here to get it resolved for you. :) I see drexappeal has honed in on another view of things.

I've tried this. It's not listed under apps anywhere. The only place I find the app icon is under the multi window, and that is not of any use to me. I'm not sure why the app icon cannot be found under the app side.

Have you checked under "hidden apps", in the app menu?

I have the same problem (can't find the gmail app icon) on my galaxy note 10.1 tablet 2014 edition. I looked at the apps drawer menu for "show hidden apps" but that option is not there. the only options in the app menu are: edit, create folder, view type, unistall/disable apps, and show disabled apps. I can not uninstall gmail. I can only uninstall the updates and then reinstall them. Any help please?

FOUND IT! It was in the apps drawer but was nested in a folder called "Google"....Yeah!
