Can't find phone in device manager

Loving my new phone however for the life of me I can't get it to register on android device manager.
I've turned all the settings I think should be on in google settings but it still doesn't show up.
The one's I've checked are:
"Remontely locate this device"
"Allow remote lock and erase"
I've also got locaton set to on as well.

Have I missed something?

Hello! First lets make sure that you are logged into the same Google account on your PC as you used to register your device on your PC.

-Did you install the Android device manager on the phone and register it for the M8

Ok can see in my Google devices my M8 and I have it as visible. My old one x still shows but I've made that invisible.
So that's now disappear ed and I have no tracking of my M8.....

Launch device manager on your M8. Does the screen look like this (yours may be listed as an 813c)?

I get the same screen but it just shows ' no active devices'.
In Google settings on my phone when I go to the menu and choose 'get verification code' it states there's an issue getting the code. I suspect this is probably the issue...

See if this works:

1. Open Google Settings from your device's apps menu.
2. Touch Android Device Manager.
3. Uncheck Allow remote factory reset.
4. Go to your device's main Settings menu, then touch Apps > All > Google Play services.
5. Touch Clear Data. Note that this action doesn't remove personal data.
6. Go back to Google Settings and select Allow remote factory reset.
7. Restart your device.

Hi! I know this is quite an old thread but didn't want to create a new one. I am having the same problem as this person. I had a S5 which I sold and it is the phone that is still showing up under my ADM. I have followed everything in this thread and can't get my M8 to show.

EDIT - Just to let everyone know, I found a fix.

In step 5, you must click "Manage Data" then scroll down and click erase all data, you'll get a warning but I went ahead and eveything seems to still be fine!

Thanks again

Thank you for the fix! Worked like a charm! In lollipop the steps are a bit different:

1. Open Google Settings
2. Touch "Security" and then uncheck "Allow remote lock and erase"
3. Go to the main Settings menu, touch Apps > All > Google Play Services
4. Touch "Manage space" and then "CLEAR ALL DATA"
5. Go back to Google Settings > Security and re-check "Allow remote lock and erase"
6. Restart your device

Now go to Android Device Manager and the phone should appear!

Did you have to wait a certain amount of time before it showing up again? I just tried the above steps on lollipop and it didn't do the trick! :/

Sorry for the delayed response. For me it showed up right away after restarting the phone... any luck on fixing the problem over the last couple of weeks?

Hello! Umm... I've been having a similar problem. I own a Motorola Droid RAZR M and HTC Desire 610 and just registered for device manager but unfortunately the app is only showing my Htc and not the motorola. Need help!
EDIT- Followed SolApathy's steps problem solved! Thanks
