Help Can't get gps to work

I got my phone today. When I goto Google Nav it says GPS is disabled. Then it says show location settings which I do. I choose Google Location Services but nothing happens. I hit the back button and go back to Nav and again it saus GPS is disabled. The only way I can get it to work is if I select VZW location services and standalone services than it will work. Can't I just use Google?

Yeah its kinda quirky. I have the gps widget (along with wifi, bluetooth, and 3g)

Just toggle the gps on and then open google nav
