Help Can't get other keyboards to function properly...

I've been using the standard keyboard for quite some time until I found a Beta for Swype. Installed it fine but when I went to use it, I "drew" the word but nothing typed. When I tapped the letters it worked fine, but the actual "drawing" didn't work. Passed it off as a fluke and went back to the keyboard.

Today I installed 8pen and it does the EXACT same thing. I draw words but nothing types in my screen. It's driving me crazy. I'd really like to try something new out soon. If anyone has any advice, please help!

I feel your pain, I don't understand why it does that. Usually Swype sends out a new Beta when their ridding an older version, but this last beta has been "out of order" for quite some time now. I don't understand what's taking them so long to get Swype out to us Droid 1-ers...it's been out on the D2/DX for how long now?
