Root Cant get root to work!?!?!

Im trying the Unrevoked method in one of the guides listed, and I cant seem to get the unrevoked program to read the device after the "waiting for device...etc." screen pops up. Under device manager, it says under the android phone something about ADB, and I properly installed the usb driver for HBOOT. Here - How To: Root the HTC Incredible (Unrevoked Method) Updated 09.20.10! | TheUnlockr , it says the device should be read by unrevoked and follow the prompts, but it wont read... What gives??

yes, i followed all the steps, made sure I didnt have HTC sync, but it wont 'read device.' Does it have to do with the options available such as charge only, HTC Sync, disk drive, wi'fi etc. that are available when you plug the USB into the phone?

most likely a driver issue. I had this problem until i manually installed the drivers. If you have a Mac it will work on there w/o issue.

I think Ive made progress trying to root, but when I get to the final steps via theunlockr.com's method using unrevoked, somethings still wrong. Under device manager - Android Phone, it says ADB! rather than Android Bootloader Interface. Also what option on the Incredible do I choose when I connect the USB, Disk Drive, Charge Only, HTC Sync, or Mobile Broadband Connect? I think one of these is the reason I originally couldnt get the phone to match with Unrevoked and it was "waiting for device."

UPDATE: Nevermind! I updated the driver on Windows and it worked out..

UPDATE: I think towards the end of the rooting process, my computer shut down. It was in the middle of 'Uninstalling the unrevoked3 service.." Did it likely finish rooting>??

I dont, now its saying during the root process in the Unrevoked window, "Error. Failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?" This occurrs after it states running root..

Ok, everything has seemed to work now, and in the unrevoked window it says rebooting into recovery.., while my phone screen is in clockworkmod recovery. Is it finished??
