ive tried both the super one click root and the method posted in the "if your an idiot..." thread. cant seem to get it. tried everything they suggest. i have the drivers installed...verizon page opens up. but i cant seem to figure it out.

did you check/enable usb debugging in the settings?

settings > applications > development

Yeah. Unchecked then unplugged all different combinations. Just kept saying waiting for device. I know im an idiot but usually with trial and error I see progress.

Which mode are you connected in? I found that it worked best if you were in Windows Media Mode or whatever that one is called.

When you plug it in, does it say that USB Debugging is enabled? It should say "connected via USB" and then "usb debugging enabled" and there should be a little bug icon in the status bar.

Once that happens, does your PC successfully install the drivers for the phone?

The super one click method took me a few times, but when i followed the instructions exactly , on the 3rd time it worked

You NEED to put your phone on USB Debugging mode and make sure you DO NOT mount your SD card

If you're having issues with "wait for device" or if RATC is looping, try this
Unplug your USB Cable
Go to Settings > Applications > Development
Uncheck USB Debugging
Plug in your USB Cable
Unplug your USB Cable
Check USB Debugging
Plug in your USB Cable

your device should be on the "charge" setting
