Help Can't get to contacts

When I try to open contacts (default installed contacts not aftermarket program) I get an error "The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." and I am forced to close. Trying again does not help, it does the same thing every time.

The phone is a VM LG Optimus Elite, How do I reset/reboot it and how do I do a factory re-install for the default software? I assume this will wipe out the contacts ...but in it's current condition I can't get to them anyway.

Yes,i am having this same problem.It has been doing this for 3 days and i wish to find out how to fix it.So any help that you can find will probably help.

If you have a Hotmail app on your phone, delete it. That fixed my problem.

I haven't tried it yet, as there are emails connected to it and I hope they have a fix soon. However you can download the app Go Contacts and it replaces your default contacts and also dialer if you wish.
