Help can't install 12.6mb app despite having 20mb free memory

hi

FYI i have an unrooted phone

today i tried to download and install the browser Opera Mobile; it's 12.58 MB in size.

the free phone memory is 20.25 MB.

now, the download worked just fine, but while installing i got the warning 'installation unsuccessful / insufficient storage'

:(

is there anything i can do? i can't free space unless i start deleting apps.
all apps that allow it have been moved to SD.
i have cleared the cache prior to installation via aCCleaner app.

any advice?

I believe if you go below 14mb you will get the low memory message and then cannot install any new apps and I'm afraid there is no way around it.

The only short term solution is to delete some unused apps. Unless someone else knows better.

I had the same problem and the only solution I could find was to root my phone and install a custom rom with a2sd+ so that I could install all apps onto the SD card.

I now more apps installed than before and still have over 80 MB free.

Go check out the root section of the forum and read a few rooting guides I recommend the guide compiled by SUroot.
