Help Can't install system update

My phone (samsung galaxy s4 android version 4.4.2) has been telling me that there's a new system update and every time I try installing it, and after the phone restarts, it takes me to the android recovery screen thing (I don't have a computer so I can't download and install it manually), says there was an error with the installation. I also can't update profile, prl, or firmware, it says there's a connection error and to try again later. I really would hate to factory reset it. Any ideas what the problem might be and how I can fix it?

Well as much as you don't want to do a factory reset,You should try it.
Doing a factory reset fix issues like this most of the time.
Just do a backup before.
