I noticed this the other day after the update and hoped it would resolve itself, but it hasn't. There are certain apps in the app store that are protected such as the MLB 2010 app (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.bamnetworks.mobile.android.gameday&feature=search_result) quite a few other protected apps. I read somewhere that the Epic is now using the new i9000 footprint that the android market doesnt recognize as U.S. specific. When i search for the apps on my phone it doesn't even show the apps at all, the online android market shows my phone as grayed out on install, any help?

Give it a few days for the footprint to be recognized and protected apps will show back up. This process usually takes less than a week.
Some developers are using the footprint from another phone to allow temporary access to the protected apps (which is what you are referring to).
