I went to login to MyVerizon and it won't let me until I change my username.
They no longer allow "." in a user name. I don't want to change my user name.
What inbred idiot made that decision? Do they not make their programmers have computer science degrees? Any competent programmer could parse a login name with "." in it. ANY COMPETENT PROGRAMMER! It's called Regular Expressions, which are based upon Deterministic Finite-state Automata, which people who know computer science are supposed to know -- at least they taught that when I got my CS degree. Google, Yahoo and MSN all allow "." in user id's. Verizon did when I set up my account and now they don't. Now they expect me to go from firstname.lastname which I can remember easily to randomcrap which I can't remember.
I sent a complaint email and they said they forwarded it to the appropriate parties, which I'm guessing means the bit bucket.
Just one more thing on the growing list of things that annoy me about Verizon. If Sprint ever gets their LTE act together, I'm gone.
