Help cant make/recieve calls or texts if i turn off 3g

Wtf! It worked perfectly fine before. I usually turn 3g off when I'm not using my phone because it drains battery. But now, if I turn 3g off, I can't make or receive calls or texts. This just started happening today. Anyone have any idea why? :/

How do you turn 3g off? Are you connected to 4g or Wi-Fi when you do so?

If you unchecked "mobile network" inside "wireless & networks" you will affect the performance of the device. Fyi, 3g doesn't significantly drains your battery. You don't need to unchecked that box (mobile network) unless you are using wifi connection - and even then it's not really necessary.
