I have a Desire and having trouble with the accuracy of "my location" and therefore it cant sat-nav, I have searched the Desire forum but cant find any info ( I did see some similar posts a while ago but cant find them now!) Can it be improved upon as with the Desire S ? Thanks in anticipation! Dave

ps Android version is 2.2 and Google maps is 4.40 in case that makes a difference

Hmm, I assume you've tried outside? The GPS signal for me is weak inside but the moment I'm outisde I get a lock on. Download GPS essentials from the market and play with the settings as it can actually tell you how many satellites you have locked on.

Thanks Jon, I have tried it out in the open for hours but it seems to find where I've been about 5 mins later! I have looked at GPS tools but they seem to use battery power even when not in use, I thought by now HTC might have improved google maps on the Desire but i cant find anything on the forums, I'll contact HTC and see what they say, Thanks, Dave

Did you try the GPS Essentials? It can give you an indication of your signal as it can show you how any satellites it's locked on to. I think it needs a minimum of 5 before it can make an accurate decision on where exactly you are standing.

No I havn't tried it Jon, I'd like to get it working without an extra app if poss. ( I read that thet use batt power even when not open!) If ihtc cant get it sorted i might sell it and buy a Sony instead!
