spikeithard

Android Expert
I deleted the jorte calendar widget and when I tried to put it back on it said not enough room even thought the page has nothing on it.

i then tried a smaller widget and still cant.

the only thing I can place on it is application icons. no widgets.

hmm

You must only have 1x1 spaces left, not one by the other.

Try upload a screenshot so people can answer easier and quicker :)

its a full blank screen.

i cant add anything.. word of the day from dictionary or mixzing.

even my middle main screen thats half full i cant add any widgets too, only app shortcuts.

Try installing an alternate launcher such as Launcher Pro (best launcher imo)

I would try and install another launcher, like ADW or Go Launcher or Zeam

Then try and put a widget on the home screen....then when it works, change back to Launcher Pro

if i put on ADW, dont i lose all my homescreen setting when i go back to launcher pro though?

ok put on ADW and i can now add widgets. hmmmm. have to start over building my homepages with adw instead

ADW is terrible. Doesnt even have a app button at the bottom to open app drawer?!

going back to launcher pro but need to figure out how to get widgets to be able to be put on again

Like most things it does if you know how, but if you have gone back to LP then no point in giving lengthy explanation on putting the app drawer button on your dock.

I have just changed from ADW to LP as I kept getting widget loading problems on ADW but I am not sure which I prefer at the moment.

Does Launcher Pro have a "Lock Desktop" setting like ADW or something similar? I ran into issues when I accidentally locked it & couldn't add or delete until I noticed it was on.

im not even sure why I remember going from stock homescreens to launcher pro now!? lol

I think I might go back to the go ol stock homepage. :)

stuff seems to work best there.

but if I wanted to try and get the widgets working again on LP, do I just uninstall LP and download it again and start fresh loading icons and such on?

The only thing I like about LP is you can change the incon picture on your screen. Dont think you can do that with stock launcher?

Ya...delete it...not sure if it leaves any cached junk on the SDCard...

Then reload.

Can't mess with icons at the bottom on the stock launcher as far as I remember.

I found ADW slow...but when reduced to 3 pages and turn auto rotate stuff on it works pretty quick.

I think I'm gonna try Zeam or Go Launcher next time...heard good things.

should I use titanium backup to delete it? or regular way through settings?

also should I go to the stock homescreen when doing it or is it ok if i do it while in LP?
thanks

It really doesn't matter.

Removing using either built in Application Manager or Titanium....no difference.

As for home screen, I always replace one with another....then delete the old one. I haven't used the stock launcher since I first upgraded to 2.1...before I rooted...so I donno.

I would probably delete LP. Reinstall it if I don't want the stock app anymore.

Always better to remove old stuff and try not to leave clutter....and since every app only takes like 20 seconds to download and install, it really doesn't take much work.
