Root Can't receive sms... Might have deleted the app.

I can send SMS using compSMS, but cannot receive them. I uninstalled the built-in messanger app since I didn't like what it did when sprint sent some marketing messages.

In any case, is there a method I can diagnose what is going on AND possibly reinstall the app (without having to flash my rom).

Note that compsms is registered to trigger when sms message is received (it has a receiver service).

I believe I removed the com.android.mms by accident. Titanium seems unable to restore it.

Actually, I got the Fresh 3.2 rom .zip which had the .apk for com.android.mms. However, how do I install it. Standard install fails, I think I need to be root installing it.

Do a nandroid restore. Titanium backup is only good for apps. The messaging app is in the phone itself, so a nandroid would be the way to go.

App data from what? From compsms?

Yes you should be able to clear data form Settings/application/all apps or from TB.

That did it for me when I was having problems sending and receiving mms(stock sms app.)
