cant receive texts?

I haven't gotten text messages in 3 days. I haven't changed any of the SMS settings so I'm wondering what heppened. I can send out, but not receive. Any ideas?
 
this happened to me to for some reason.

try this:

1. Go to messages.
2. Hit the menu button.
3. Click Settings
4. Under Message center make sure the number is this: +13123149810
including the + sign. once your done go back to the main screen and reboot.

try to send one to someone or yourself to see if it fixed the problem.

Hope it works!

nope... that's the number my phone came with.
 
I'm having pretty much the same problem. However, I receive some texts. Others, I don't receive. I haven't received any multimedia messages, and sometimes I don't receive any regular SMS messages. Anyone know what that's about ?

I've checked the Messages app settings and I've also tried ChompSMS.
 
I had this problem only I couldn't receive any texts. Went to AT&T and got a new sim card and now everything is working. Someone suggested to me that I take my sim and put it in a different phone, then back to the Captivate, but I didn't have a spare phone on me. It may work for some of you.

I was having the opposite issue. I could receive texts but not send any...this little trick fixed my issue. Thanks!:)
 
I had this issue a few days ago, i was able to receive notifications from email and att but not any texts from friends. my battery died the other day and so I charged it up. when i turned on the phone i started to receive ALL the messages I wasnt receiving before. so killing my battery fixed my issue, just throwing this out there if you guys still having the texting problem!
 
I had the same issue too. Couldn't send or receive texts. Showed sent messages as having gone out, but nobody received them. Couldn't receive texts from people (tested with people in the same room). Went to the AT&T store and they pulled my text package off in the system and then put it back on. Fixed the problem within a few minutes.
 
a late followup, stopped by the AT&T store and the sales guy took the battery and sim card out and put them back in again. started working a couple minutes later, go figure. I had tried that before making the first post.

I ended up replacing that phone when the speaker stopped working, the replacement has been fine for the past week.
