Guys!!, i need your help.

I have been trying to root my phone for the last month and nothing seems to be working.
I have used rootgt540 and it says that the file system is in "read only mode"
I try to run autorootapp2sd, and some thing.
z4root just sits there.
SuperOneClick just hangs forever.
I follow all the instructions. I have done tons for research. But to no avail.
I guess my problem is that "read only file system" thing. I have not seen anyone with that problum om the forums ( and i have looked at alot in the past month) and everyone who dose have the problem, just disappear with out posting a fix.

So please help me out :)

Thanks guys.

i used Z4root 1.30, worked fine form me. download it from applanet, click perminent root and leave it for about 5 minutes. if that doesnt work try flashing a kdz rom then install cyanogen 7.

are we able to do it manually though the adb? anyone know of a tutorial?

EDIT
would download mode for phone and a different mode(not shore witch one) for kdz updater work?

i kinda have that problem you have i cant find any way to root my phone i have 2.1 but when i use z4root nothing happens :( i even leave it around 5- 15 minutes but nothing the only thing it does is that my phone gets slow

Ok, I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I was thinking, theoretcally, is it possible to change all files, via pc, from "read only" to "read and write"?

In a nutshell, no. Rooting basically gives you total administrator rights to your file system. So if you haven't rooted you don't have access rights to those files in question let alone change their permissions.
