Help Can't see my texts while typing them...

Hello all,
When I start typing a text, I get the vibration but I can't see my entire message until I am ready to send it. It was working before but a 2yr old got ahold of my phone lol. Help please!!

I've had this happen a handful of times especially in landscape mode. Never did find the true cause but a battery pull has always remedied the problem for me.
