Root Can't seem to flash a new ROM

Slowtdi

Newbie
Everything seems to have gone wrong. I decided I wanted to do a fresh clean wipe/ROM install. Maybe I did something wrong, but My phone only half works.

My market place doesn't work. Everytime I try to download anything via market it gives me insufficient space errors, no matter how big or small the app is.

Secondly, I cannot flash a new ROM. It gives me a string of errors

assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "bravoc" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "bravoc || getprop("ro.product.board") == "bravoc" E:Error in /sdcard/download/update-cm-7.1.0-bravoC-signed.zip (status 7)

I've tried the file that was still on the phone from the old working setup, a new file, other versions of CM7.. nothing will flash.

I tried to run unRevoked on it again, thinking a reflash of that would fix things, but it won't recognize my phone.

All I got was basically a "factory reset". It still works as a phone, I can install files from APK's, but Market won't work and I can't Flash a new ROM.

HTC Desire, CDMA (Telus) CM7 - 7.1.0-desire, Kernel: 2.6.38.8-tiamat_bravo-v4.1.0+

I'd appreciate any help i could get

Thanks

The market issues sounds like it might be a permissions issue, I used to get it.
Had to run a script that SUroot gave me.
If I still have it, I'll post it later.

Code:
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "bravoc" ||  getprop("ro.build.product") == "bravoc || getprop("ro.product.board") ==  "bravoc" E:Error in /sdcard/download/update-cm-7.1.0-bravoC-signed.zip  (status 7)

This usually happens when you flash a non CDMA ROM on a CDMA device or a CDMA ROM on a GSM device.

Providing you are CDMA, perhaps the zip is not what it says it is?

Mind you, I understand Telus is GSM. Please boot into Hboot and tell me what it says. I need ALL the text please.

Well, not to argue with you, but the original ROM i ran before was the CDMA version and it worked. Telus has always been CDMA until their recent upgrade to HSPA+. Should I try a GSM ROM?

I have tired a few different CM7 files, different versions, with no luck.

Edit:
Is this what you're looking for?

Thanks. Yes that is definitely, 100% GSM.

It would say BRAVOC DVTx rather than BRAVO PVTx if it was CDMA>

And you're 100% correct. I just flashed the GSM ROM. It's still booting up, but it looks successful.

I did look in my SD card at the original ROM file I used when I first installed CM7 and it was identical to the CDMA file i recently downloaded.. weird.

does cm7 come with terminal emulator?

If so type the below (each new line is an "enter")

su
chmod 777 /cache

See if you can download then.
