Help Can't Send Emails

Sorry if this has been asked before.....
I have been able to send emails on my HTC Wildfire using BT Yahoo mail but suddenly I can't. I have not changed anything and can still receive emails. When I try to verify my outgoing server instructions I get the message "Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding".

I have checked my outgoing server settings and they look correct to me:-

Log In Required: Ticked
Username: My email address
Password: Correct as per my incoming which works.
SMTP server: mail.btinternet.com
Security Type: None
Server Port: 25

Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me nuts!!!

Teddy I don't know why you could & now you can't. But on my PC I can send & receive using btinternet or gmail.

On my phone I can receive both, but I can only send an email (3G or wifi) when I use my gmail account.

I often forget & when I try to change the send account, it won't let me because it keeps trying to send it. When it gives up I go to the top line & send it using the gmail account.
