Welcome to the forums!

I was going to suggest trying both the +977 and 00977 as the country code? I know that mobiles take the + in the place of the 00 (but from what you have written, I think you have already tried!

Just out of interest, do you have a desire of a desire hd - I don't think there should be much difference, but if you have a desire, there may be something else worth considering...

i have had my HTC for 18months ish- been on hols with it- many times, no problems- My friend has gone travelling and is currently in Nepal- cannot recieve any of my messages but is recieveing from othres- i have tried every avenue and now am only left with a fault on the phone somewhere- have tred sending to +447XX and with the nepaleese code and all sorts. Have spokn to O2 who cannot help- say the network is working properly and all that....

Am quite frustrated now, and look forward to wise words of wisdom from those far cleverer than myself.............Cheers!:(

Hi nottoolucky!

I had suggested using the Nepal country code, as I thought you meant that your friend had a Nepaleese (sorry, not sure... is that how it's spelt) SIM card. If he is using his UK SIM card, then you would have to use his UK number (with UK country code).

Have you tried putting your sim card in a different phone and sending a message, to see if he gets it from you... at least that way you would know that it is definately a problem with your phone!

nottoolucky - I have been speaking to a friend who is a telecom engineer... he has said that it is not likely to be a problem with your phone, but is most likely to be a problem to do with the far end (as in the Nepal end)... he said something about the roaming agreement that your friend in Nepal's carrier has with Nepal is the likely culprit.

He was not able to elaborate any further than that on the issue, as we are in the UK, not the Nepal. What network is your friend in Nepal with? What network are your other UK based friends with (who are able to text your friend in Nepal)?
