Root Cant send long text...

mofoe2001

Newbie
Its been a while since Ive had my phone rooted now, so please forgive me if I mix up my terminology here. I believe I have CM7 gingerbread installed on my optimus m. When I first flashed my phone, I had 2 issues. One wasnt able to send pictures through text (MMS?) and the other was not being able to send long text messages (no pics).

I was able to text just fine, but they had to be short messages. I was about to fix the issue not being able to send pictures, but I still cannot send a long message. When I do, I just get failed to send message along with the little red triangle with an exclamation mark in it.

I tried updating my PRL? and nothing. Anyone know whats up?

The first thing that comes to my mind, is that long text messages (greater than 160 characters) is treated like an MMS message. So, if you can't send MMS, you can't send a long text (even though it doesn't have a picture attached). One thing to try is go into the messaging settings and find the setting to split long messages. Make sure that there is a check mark in the box. Try this out, basically it'll make multiple text messages out of your one long message. Now the caveat here, is that they won't necessarily arrive in the correct order so the recipient will have to decipher them.

You see, that's what I was thinking at first. I'm able to send MMS messages, but unable to send long SMS for some odd reason. I did go into settings enable the 160 character break down feature as a temp fix.

I don't know about you, but when I send a long SMS, its usually because I'm mad (usually at my girl), lol and I enter a whole new realm of rage when I see my long text rant hasn't been sent, but that's just me, haha. I just want a permanent fix before my head explodes!

I'm sure if you said it instead of text it she would dump you, xD jkjkjk.
