Help cant send or receive texts

my girlfriends fascinate suddenly stopped sending and receiving texts today. internet and calls still work. just not texts i dont have the phone here with me shes at college.

any ideas on what might fix this. data wipe or anything?

was able to talk her through a factory reset and restore a backup.

all is good now.
