Help cant send or recieve picture messages

bravo1975

Newbie
Iv been on the phone to T-Mobile for ages trying to fix this.
Basically when I receive a picture message it says I have to go online and fill in a code to see it.
I went through all the settings with T-Mobile to setup receiving the picture messages direct to my phone, think its called AVN or APN setup in mobile network settings, but still no joy. I get 3G or H next to signal strength.
In the end I had to try my sim in another phone and I sent and received a picture message with no problem, which was then he said there is something wrong with the phone.
Anyone got any ideas what the problem is as I bought the phone so if I call HTC I'm not covered.

Apparently you need both these APN's current on your phone, not just the one with MMS settings.

Does it work over Wi-fi? Have you tried another messaging app like GOSMS etc? Has MMS ever worked on your phone or has it just happend?

Iv got three APN's, T-Mobile internet, picture message, T-Mobile mms.
Yes it used to work fine, upto earlier this week it was working.
Iv just tried over WiFi and it hasn't worked.
I don't have half those settings, there's no HOMEPAGE, USE PROXY, CONNECTION SECURITY, SESSION MODE, INTERNET MODE and a few others, Are we on about the same phone? Iv tried it on handcent sms and the standard HTC message app.

Usually in the APN menu there is a "restore default" setting somewhere for each of the APNs... that usually sorts out message glitches.

Thts just completely deleted all three of my apn's!!

Apologies.. has never done that to me or my friends who have done this. T Mobile should be able to resend them to you via text message or you maybe able to get them from the T Mobile site?

Another consideration is who sends the message...if their operator does not support pic messages then it will come through with the website code.

No worries finally got it sorted, Spoke to t-mobile and the operator had the same phone so she told me her setting. I tried the automated system and it kept sending me a download file tht wouldnt download.
