Root Can't Send/Receive Pic Messages - First Virtuous now CM7

Hey all,

So a little while back I had an issue where I couldn't send or receive picture messages. I found the culprit to be that CurveFish APN app.

A short time after that it happened again while on Virtuous, I was given instructions to do a full wipe and reinstall Virtuous or another ROM. At that point I did a full wipe and reinstalled Virtuous and problem was fixed.

Now, I am running CM7 and have been for 2-3 months (CM7.0.2.1 with Chad Incredikernal 2.6.37.6, baseband version 2.15.00.07.28). I just noticed that again I can't send or receive picture messages (after a time when I could).

3G and Wifi both work with all other applications. I do not get the low memory notification. Problem is in both Handcent and Stock Messaging apps.

Due to the fact that I can send and receive pic messages for some time, makes me think it is not my phone, nor CM7.

Today I did a full Factory Wipe (in Clockwork), Cleared Cache and Dalvik Cache, and reinstalled everything. Still can't send or receive pic messages.

I just get a little pop up that says "Message from _____ could not be downloaded"

ANY THOUGHTS??

THANKS IN ADVANCE!

now I can SEND them.. but can't receive them.. I get a message with a box that says "Download" and after clicking on it looks like it starts downloading - 3G pops up and arrows (up arrow) blinks a few times.. then "unable to download message"

WEIRD!

The only time I had that issue, was a conflict between chompsms and the stock app. I had them both set to automatically download, and thye pissed each other off.

I've been having this issue for a long time now and wiping/reloading seems to only temporarily fix the issue. I finally found this TODAY on CyanogenMod Forums
-Download Root Explorer (remember you have a 15 minute refund period on the Market)
-Navigate to /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/
-Press and hold on the telephony.db and delete it
-Reboot the phone and voila!
I tried downloading an old message and it wouldn't download so I had a friend send me an MMS and *boom* I was able download his image as well as the old ones that I was never able to get.

Hope this helps!

I had the same problem. I am also running chad's incredikernel with cm7. I found some advice that said to raise your minimum cpu up above 250. Smartass (if that's what you're using) is 245. Whenever I need to send a pic message or I'm expecting one, I always move the min cpu to 422. Supposedly the messaging app doesn't ask for the cpu to increase, causing the phone to run at minimum, which isn't enough for it to send or receive picture messages. Whether or not that's the problem, this fix worked for me. Hope this helped! :D

Ive had this issue also when flashing Roms. Usually all I had to do was install the stock mms app from rom manager. I usually grab it from virtuous restore apps.

How do I change the minimum CPU setting?

I was so happy when it worked for me since I've been getting 1/10 MMS for the last couple months.
