Help cant start my DHD

Newbie
I woke up in the morning and found my phone Switched off and when I went to start it up all it did was vibrate 7 times then would do nothing else, battery is fully charged only time it does anything again is if I drop the battery out, when I hit power again it just vibrates again.
When I connect to computer or charger there is no amber light to say it charging and the screen does not come on or anything except vibrating .
any help please thank you

That doesn't sound great... have you done anything at all different with your phone recently?!
 
Not sure what to suggest... if you can't get in to the phone, there's not a lot you can do.

I'll have a bit of a search for you, but it may be that you have to try and get it sorted by your carrier.

Have you been trying to charge the phone with via USB using the computer or by plugging it in to the wall?

Have you tried using a different USB cable, to see if that is where the problem lies?

If the light is not coming on, then it may be worth trying to blast the micro USB socket on the phone with a can of compressed air (to see if there is anything in the way not letting your phone charge up).

I am still trying to find other stuff on the net and will come back with some more possibilities for you shortly!

Rooting is the Android equivalent to Jailbreaking on the Iphone... from your answer, I will take it that you haven't done that... you can ignore this question - we can discuss this later if we are able to get your phone sorted!!

the phone was plugged to the wall and the led light was on I try to switch it on then the led light disappeared and the phone start vibrating and it keeps vibrating as long as its connected to the charge,Ive noticed that it dose vibrate for 7 times then 4 times continuously:mad: thank u for your help
 
Well... if it's yellow, then that means that it's not fully charged, but it means that it should have some charge in it. The red light is (obviously) when there is very little charge in.

How long did you leave it on charge? Have you tried using a different USB cable to charge the phone?

EDIT - the LED turns off on my phone when I unplug mine from charge too, so it turning off is not necessarily something to worry about!

am not sure for how long i had it on the charge because the plug is lose and half of the charger was outside the wall so am not sure that it was charging properly
i plugged the phone now to my laptop with different usb , its not vibrating any more but still no led light
 
Do you have a spare battery (or have a friend with a DHD that could let you use) to see if it is actually related to the battery? You would have to use another official battery (rather than a third party one) to see if it solves your problem, as some third party batteries are no good.

The battery being at fault is the only other thing that I have managed to find so far as being the possible cause of the probelm. If you still have the problem when you've tried another battery, then it could be a problem with the phone - in this case, you would need to speak to your carrier to see if they can get it repaired under warrantee.
 
Hello, I wanted to say I have exactly the same problem with my device. I have been using my htc desire hd for about 8 months now. The problem started 3 days ago and I have tried a number of things but no improvement whatsoever.
One day I picked my phone and noticed that it has been reset by itself because it asked me to enter my SIM pin number. So I was like hmm.. ok whatever. Once I entered the number waited a bit and I had a bunch of errors saying some apps stopped working and I could choose either to restart it or force shut down the app. Those app were not installed by me those apps are included in every android system like "messages app, contacts etc." Those were the errors I was getting after the unexpected reset.
So I decided to reset the phone but I had the same error pops each time I restarted the device. I also tried to shut it down then leave it for 30 minutes, it did not help. After 3 restarts a white screen appeared showing few options like "reboot, reboot boot, shut down etc" I am sorry I dont remember exactly what it said now but its like the BIOS on your pcs. So finally I decided to take the battery out of the device and left it apart for the night. After 10 hours I entered the battery back to the phone with no SIM card and no memory card as well. It started flashing few times when I wanted to power it on then completely shutdown.
I am not able to start the device at all right now.
I have no idea what happened because I DID NOT install any apps from few months on this device. The phone was working perfectly every single day then this happened.
Is it possible to master reset the device without getting into the login screen since I am not even able to power in on for more than few seconds? What could have happen that would cause this error?
 
Have you tried using a different battery? That was somehting that was suggested above - perhaps this could solve your issue.

If you do not have a warrantee, then it may be worth taking the phone to a phone repair shop in the high street? The main reason for not doing that is that it would void the warrantee.

Just one more thought... even though you bought it in a different country, could you not try to get it repaired by HTC? At least that way, they would put a warrantee on the work they have done... perhaps this would be worth a try!?!
