Root Can't stop update!

I deleted the blurupdater.apk and it is still trying to update. Is there another file or way to prevent the message/update?

allow it to update, and when its done just sbf back to froyo, my phone never requests a update lol

Just root using Z4root and remove the blockbuster app.

I did. It keeps prompting me to update again. I don't want it to even download.

Wally if you have Titanium Backup go into it and look for the file "updater". If it's there freeze it.

Don't see updater, only upgrader 1.0.0

Are you sure you deleted the Blurupdater_VZW.apk file? Normally you would just rename it to .bak and it stops the update from trying to download and install. Something may have gone a$$ over elbow on you and deleting it wasn't such a good idea. You may have to put it back in and rename it.

EDIT: Also, did you restart your phone after deleting it?

There was not a file called Blurupdater_VZW.APK, only Blurupdater.apk. I renamed to blurupdater.bak and rebooted. This was in the system/app folder.

That's the file. Mine shows up as Blurupdater_VZW.apk. Did you use root explorer to rename it?

Yep.

I think it maybe gone for now. I had two blurupdater.apk files in my system/app folder, deleted both, manually deleted all temp and cache files and it seems to be gone and not attempting to download. Thanks for all the help guys.

He posted in the rooted section and it wasn't moved. So I can safely say he is rooted......lol
