hi. new to android as I just bought a galaxy tab 4. I want to transfer some pdf's to it from my pc. I have a folder on the tab with some pdf's in it that were downloaded from email. when I plug the tab into my windows 8 pc it shows all files on the tab empty and it wont let me copy files from pc to tab either. Any ideas?

Are you saying the PC doesn't recognize the tablet at all? If so, first thing you need to do, probably, is get the appropriate drivers. On my old laptop for my tab 2, this is done by downloading Samsung's Kies. You can delete/uninstall Kies later.
Also, do you have a micro sdhc on your tablet? You might be looking in the wrong place, sdcard vs extsdcard - or something similar.
