Help Cant Uninstall LG Keyboard - constantly getting 'Choose input method'

Hello,

This is killing us. My wife and I got volts and we both use swype. So we set it to the default keyboard but it is always asking us to choose between swype and the LG keyboard. Sometimes the keyboard doesn't come up at all! Very frustrating.

In apps I can not disable the LG keyboard. In keyboard settings it will not let me fully uncheck the keyboard. I have rooted the phone to try and uninstall the LG keyboard but not sure where to go from here.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I might have gotten this fixed.

Steps were roughly:

Root device -> ES file explorer -> (options root explorer on) App Manager -> System Apps -> uninstall lg keyboard. Said uninstall failed but keyboard is gone even after a restart. Still slow to come up but at least the annoying keyboard select is gone and ruled out.
