Help Can't upgrade to Gingerbread.

Wait I checked under properties of the aba and fastboot and it says Application (.exe), so I guess I have what I need?

Instructions say type in C:\Android in command prompt and I do that and it says C:\Android is not recognized.

I typed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Android and it keeps saying C:\Program is not reconigesd as an interinael or external command, operable program or batch file.

You are forgetting to type CD in front of c:\android

Code:
 cd c:\android
is what you should be typing

Navigate to where you unzipped the ZIP file and go to the folder you just created (For Example: If you created the folder in C:\Android, then you would type in Command Prompt: cd c:\Android

So don't type in C:\Program Files (x86)\Android, type cd c:\Android?

Correct, if that is the name of the folder you created to copy the 3 files to. If you didn't copy the files there yet. Open up your c:\ and right click in an empty area and select the option to create a new folder and name it android.

The folder I coped the files to is called C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk-windows\Root

Ok I did that now it says c:/Android.

Ok I typed in fastboot oem get_identifier_token and now it says waiting for device, how should I connect my phone, disk drive?

It just says waiting for device, I see a requirment is HTC Sync, I guess I need that for it to connect.

If you got the RUU to load in the first couple steps you shouldn't need htc sync but might be worth a shot. Did you double check that USB debugging is turned on?

Yes USB debugging is on.

Oh never mind, you need to boot into hboot and select the fastboot option.

Step 1

Remove and reinsert the battery.

Step 2

Press Volume Down and Power to start the device into Bootloader mode.

Step 3

Use the Volume buttons to select up or down. Highlight Fastboot and press the Power button.

Step 4

Connect the device to the computer via a usb cable

Could it be I don't have the correct 3 files?

The files are good or you wouldn't have the message that says its waiting for device.

Ok but why don't instructions say to do that?

]The instructions are kind of confusing[/B] if it your first time doing this type of thing. They definitely could have been more clear or just put the instructions onto a single page.
Yeah like those 3 files with exe. at the end that are not really at the end of the files, that's what really confused me.

Wow after all I went through I get this.
