Help Can't use pop up screen reply with handcent??

Is anyone else using handcent having issues replying with the pop up screen? When a message arrives it pops up on the screen and I hit reply but it won't open to allow me to. I have to swipe the screen and either pull down the notification bar or touch the handcent icon. It is annoying. I have tried different settings in the menu but nothing seems to fix the issue. Is handcent compatible with the fascinate? Even when I use the native messaging app I have to pull the messaging puzzle piece to unlock and touch the messaging icon. Please tell me there is a fix for this.

I've been using Hancent with pop up reply on the Fascinate without any issues for over a month. I did not update to the latest version because many users reported problems with it.
