Help Can't voice searcy w/out connection

First off I wanna say this community is awesome, lots of great info!

Just recently I've realized that I can no longer use voice search to do internal things such as: "note to self" "send text to" "set alarm for" and even the mic keyboard function. If I'm not connected via WiFi or 4g then it says connection error. Understandable for Google search but for phone functionality I could swear I never needed connection before. Any thoughts? Using nova if that's anything

Not sure what you're using for voice, but if it's the Google stuff, there's now:

Settings .. Language and Input .. Voice Search .. Download offline speech recognition

(settings per vanilla Android - YMMV)

It may be you need to run through the options on this ..

Seemed legit reading it but I can't find "Download offline speech recognition" in there anywhere. only a couple options for blocking offensive words and improving speech recognition.. puzzling
