Why do they stay lit when watching Netflix? It bothers the heck out of me.

Try watching something on netflix with a light shining at the screen. Generally the softkey backlight sends to be tied to the amount of ambient light that is hiring the light sensor. I just tried out myself and I can get the keys to light up and turn off by facing the screen away from a light source and then back at the light source.
